Jalan Bukit Ho Swee: early housing, neighbourhood history and resale evidence

Jalan Bukit Ho Swee’s HDB inventory records 727 homes in eight residential blocks, checked against Property.co on 19 October 2026. Five blocks were completed in 1962, two in 1963 and one in 1964. The recorded blocks are 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 32, 34 and 46. These building dates help describe the street, while a particular flat’s lease commencement and remaining lease require separate checks.

The sold stock consists of 170 two-room, 429 three-room and nine four-room homes. The inventory separately records 116 two-room rental and three three-room rental homes. The sold categories total 608 homes and the rental categories 119, together accounting for 727. Keep those categories distinct when comparing properties; the street total does not represent current resale supply.

There were ten registered resales on Jalan Bukit Ho Swee from October 2025 to September 2026. Five two-room sales had a median of S$265,000 and ranged from S$255,000 to S$350,000. Five three-room sales had a median of S$380,000 within a S$280,000–S$445,000 range. Each type has only five observations, so use the figures as dated evidence for those flats rather than a street-wide valuation.

The wider Bukit Ho Swee neighbourhood has a significant place in Singapore’s housing history. The National Library Board records the major fire of 25 May 1961 and the subsequent rehousing and public-housing development in the area. That broader history gives context to the early building dates, but does not by itself establish the history, original occupants or present sale conditions of any one block.

Havelock MRT, TE16 on the Thomson–East Coast Line, is about 154 metres from the nearest residential block in Property.co’s straight-line calculation; Tiong Bahru, EW17 on the East–West Line, is about 182 metres away on the same basis. These minima may originate at different blocks and are not walking times. Investigate station entrances and road crossings from the specific address.

Zhangde Primary School confirms its current address as 51 Jalan Membina. Property.co measures around 448 metres from the nearest residential block on Jalan Bukit Ho Swee in a straight line. Use the campus address to explore practical daily journeys, while checking official registration-distance rules and admission arrangements separately from this street-level reference.

Tiong Bahru Park is a separate recreation destination along Tiong Bahru Road and Lower Delta Road. NParks records 3.3 hectares and highlights a playground with a tilting train. Its neighbourhood setting offers somewhere to investigate during a viewing trip, but the relevant entrance and route should be assessed from the block rather than inferred from a nearby park marker.
